TVNZ today announced that Sacha McNeil will take up a new role as reporter on TVNZ 1’s Seven Sharp.
With over 20 years’ experience, Sacha is one of the country’s leading broadcasters, a highly respected news presenter and journalist, having worked for both TVNZ and MediaWorks/Discovery throughout her career.
Leaving her role as Newshub presenter, Sacha is thrilled to be returning to TVNZ and taking up an exciting new role on the flagship evening current affairs show.
Sacha says: “I can’t wait to join the Seven Sharp team, it’s a show full of humour and heart and I look forward to getting stuck in and reporting on a mix of stories that the whole country can enjoy. I began my broadcasting career at TVNZ and have since turned my hand to reporting, presenting and producing across a broad range of news shows, in the studio and live in the field so this new role is a perfect fit for me. I'm looking forward to working alongside many of the best in the business and am quietly hoping Hilary is still generous with her baking."
Sascha will take up her new role from Monday 29 November, with on-air stories to follow thereafter.
Seven Sharp is New Zealand’s most watched current affairs programme in 2021 with an average audience of 484,000 people 5+.
