Kings Coronation - Like A King
To celebrate and have some fun with the historical event of King Charles III coronation/crowning, TVNZ presented a fun new integrated commercial series called ‘Like A King’. Featuring iconic Kiwi-Brit, Suzanne Paul, who’s here to show NZ how to level up and do things like a king would, ‘Like A King’ is a comedic series of how-to style videos.
As the world watched the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, TVNZ celebrated the momentous occasion with a special line-up of programming and the opportunity to give Kiwi businesses the right royal treatment.
The TVNZ Blacksand & Partnerships team created a fame building integrated partnership campaign, ‘Like a King’, designed to celebrate event television in a playful and innovative way. We partnered with five advertisers who were brave enough to put their brands at the heart of a fun, bold take on the royal celebration.
The team produced a series of snappy TVCs with the legendary Suzanne Paul teaching viewers 'how to' level up and do it Like A King, with the help of each brand and of course, a Kiwi twist!
From formal dining tips for the best way to eat a flamed grilled WHOPPER® and the dos and don’ts of dunking an Arnott’s biccie, to ways to spice up a celebratory G&T thanks to Liquorland, Suzanne has a fun and eclectic mix of tips and tricks for Kiwis looking to do life like a royal.
Harnessing the power of the TVNZ network – ‘Like A King’ not only ran as an ad break takeover during Seven Sharp on Friday 5 May and during the Coronation on Saturday 6 May, but standalone TVC’s also featured within Seven Sharp’s ‘Countdown to Coronation’ and played out across TVNZ’s channels and on TVNZ+. We are thrilled to see our brand partners bringing this partnership to life with 'Like A King' activations in stores and across other platforms.
