TVNZ and AA Insurance launch Location, Location, Location

The third season of TVNZ’s popular relocation series Moving Houses will be hosted by former All Black, Andrew Ellis.

Andy’s prowess on the rugby field saw him excel during a solid 28-test career for the All Blacks, winning the Rugby World Cup in 2011, as well as making 154 appearances for the Crusaders from 2006 – 2016, winning two Super Rugby titles over that time. Off the field, Andy is an award-winning landscape designer and has written a book on the subject.

His passion for design also extends to architecture and property development and he can’t wait to follow our homeowners on their journey of moving and renovating houses across the motu.

"I’m stoked to be joining Moving Houses,” enthuses Andy. “I’ve really enjoyed watching the series and have marvelled at the skill and technical know-how of the drivers negotiating some of NZ’s most treacherous roads, while admiring the ambition and aspirations of the Kiwi homeowners embarking on these epic moves to create their dream homes. It’s going to be another wild ride and I can't wait.”

Andy’s new hosting role follows the departure of Clarke Gayford who expertly helmed the first two seasons of the series and whose enthusiasm for the process was evident.

Clarke Gayford says, “Moving House's was such a great show to be part of. I really enjoyed the journey. Who doesn't love massive trucks, outsized machinery matched at times with almost impassable roads. But what I'm most disappointed about in not coming back is that you meet just the absolute best New Zealanders who take on these big dream projects, it's recycling on a grand scale. I won't be on this season because of other commitments but it's now in great hands with Andy and no doubt he will stay awake through the night a lot better than I managed."

Moving Houses season three is produced by Imagination Television Ltd. It is currently in production and will return to TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+ for another wild ride of house relocation later in the year.
